I'm trying to get all of the ruls for the sc truck class at the track there as me and my wife are extremly new to racing and figured that would be the cheapest and easiest way to go.  So if anyone can link me the rules and stuff for the track and what is allowed for the stock class on the sc trucks as in what can and cant be touched from the box thanks Steve

I too am moving off of Crew road and have been wanting to get into the racing for years. Me and my 9 year old son would love to find the rules for your track and classes so we can make an educated decision on which truck we want to buy for the Short Course that is.

So to get into this event after lots of practice, I could buy the slash and change out the body? Just trying to get all the details before spending out the dough sort of speak. Just looking to buy the right truck to be RTR with little mods to get into the action.

"SCT Stock 2WD
· Body - any 1/10 Short Course Full Fender body
· Tires - Street Style Short Course Tires any compound
· Motor - 17.5 brushless or any box stock brushed motor
· Batteries - 7 Cell NiMh or 2S Lipo"

well i do believe they allow the losi strike which is only 150 rtr plus your battery so its not to expensive to start out the ony thing with the strike for some reason its not roar approved.  not sure on the associated sc10 or the hpi blitz as bieng roar approved but i like losi products so kinda impartial to the strike lol

You can race any 1/10 scale short course truck, slash, blitz, strike, etc.

You can change the body as well.

Ive heard the Losi Strike should have been called the "Strike Out" its so bad and not worthy of Losi name, but of course I dont own one just what I read on most of the forums. I would ask around first $200 on something that will work better than $130 on junk.

Funny say that about the Strike, i went to a shop today to get some questions answered and the guy said he liked the Strike over the Slash.

During the week does anybody race or practice on the track? Want to go see some Sc's in action before i make up mind for the purchase.

Personally, I would have to say that the slash would be the best to get because of its durability and proven performance on the track. I myself am running a slash in the mod sc 2wd class that is 2 years old and I refuse to buy another 2wd of diff. brand. As long as the setup is right the slash is untouchable...IMO. According to RC Racer Magazine the Slash is still king of the SCs. Oh and did I mention that me and my slash have been puttin a hurtin on the guys with the Blitzs and SC10s( Roger)...LOL. Sorry guys...I know it hurts but its the truth. For the beginner racer the slash will hold up far better than anything else. Other trucks are focused more towards the average racer and are more fragile for sure. Would have to say Blitz would be close second though... This is all just my opinion.

Last Year.... key words!!!! Just waitin for ya Downs. No but seriously just trying to give good advice for a beginner racer not a seasoned vet like you with your (hit a rut and lose a tie rod)SC10..hehe. Mr. onroad racing off road cause its more fun. Just make sure you bring that thing to the next points race and then we'll see whats up. Unfortunatly I don't think I'm gonna make it this weekend, already made plans. Not enough notice for the Ole lady. Yall know how it goes. But then again?????????

Well went out and shelled out some dough today and bought the Whelchel version of the slash today. Did some test runs on the road and through the grass.

Now my question is where can I find good reliable information on how to set the shocks and maybe a step by step process of what parts to replace first. But to keep it stock to race.

ArmyGuy, you can go to traxxas.com for team racer setups and their forums are ok too. Or just google slash setup tips.

Thanks...cause I noticed when on blacktop and doing tight turns it hugged the road but the front tires would rub on the body and catch. So I assuming the shocks are set to soft in the front.

Ok went to the park with kids in Hampton and came across a bmx course at Gooseland park or what ever its called. However I got a good taste of driving on dirt and hitting some doubles. Now how the hell do you guys keep the trucks from fish tailing all over the place?
